Welcome to Coldwater

Coldwater is a laid-back slice-of-life community nestled in the fictional mountain town of Coldwater, Montana. Inspired by real towns like Bozeman, Coldwater blends small-town charm, natural beauty, and the quiet rhythms of everyday life. Whether you're walking down Main Street, sipping coffee at a local café, or exploring the surrounding forests and foothills, Coldwater offers the perfect backdrop for storytelling, connection, and creativity. We welcome players of all experience levels to join us on this journey of exploration, community, and character-driven roleplay.

Getting Set Up & Applying

Holds:
All holds last for up to 3 days, with an optional 24-hour extension upon request. Holds expire at midnight EST on the third day.

Username Guidelines:
You’re welcome to use IC or OOC usernames—just keep them clean and simple. Please avoid excessive numbers, random letters, or multiple underscores.

Biographies:
We require a minimum 200-word biography for your character. This should include basics like their full name, age, occupation, hometown, and anything else that brings them to life. Coldwater is a town full of stories—this is your chance to make your character feel like part of it.

Backdating & Journal Locking: Please backdate both your IC and OOC contact posts and ensure your journal is set to friends only.

Rejections:
If your application is deleted, it means you were not accepted into the community. If the issue is minor and fixable, we’ll reach out before adds to give you a chance to update it.
Activity Requirements

Introductions:
Once you're accepted, please post your intro within 72 hours. If we don’t hear from you and you haven’t contacted us, we’ll consider your character inactive and remove them during the next adds. You must reply to most or all comments on your intro post for it to count toward monthly activity.

Monthly Activity:
We ask for one meaningful post per month. This can be a narrative, a multimedia post, an Instagram-style feed (with multiple photos), or anything else that contributes to the life of the community. If you join after the 20th of the month, you’re not required to submit an activity post that month, but you must still complete your intro.

Hiatuses & Extensions:
Need a break? You can request a hiatus of up to 4 weeks, with a 1-week extension if needed. If you’re dealing with special circumstances, reach out—we’re happy to work with you.

Need extra time for activity? You can ask for an extension once every two months. Frequent extensions without consistent activity may lead to removal.

Removals:
If you’re removed due to inactivity, don’t sweat it—you’re welcome to reapply with a new post. We also routinely clean up outdated friends lists, so feel free to rejoin when you're ready. However, if you're removed multiple times, we may reconsider future applications.
Miscellaneous

PB Changes:
You're allowed up to two face claim changes for now. Please wait for approval before updating icons or visuals to avoid confusion. This policy may change as the community grows.
